Poem in which we wear too much glitter, Wilderness Festival

Poem in which we wear too much glitter

Evening and the grass is coated in glitter
the flowers are fabulous
metallic in the last stretch of sunlight.
Tent floors are moving silver,
glitter slipping into sleeping bags.
It fills the creases of fabric,
falls from our eyes like sleep-dust.
Look at it running down our faces
in fat mirrored tears
like a cartoon when someone cries
and the whole room is water. Everywhere glitter!
Midnight. And the moon is glitter,
hundreds and thousands of cosmic sequins
and the stars are glitter and we float on glitter
clouds filled with air and sparkle and gold
and isn’t it dazzling up here?
