Pen & Bulb started five years ago when we were both struggling with mental health issues that we wanted to challenge. A fear of flying (Chris) combined with OCD (Natalie) doesn’t make travel easy. But we travelled and took photos and wrote poems none the less.

Since then, we’ve come a long way. We’re just about in control of our mental health (emphasis on just about). Oh, and we’re now married! That’s Mr and Mrs Pen & Bulb to you. But, while a lot has changed, we’re still as driven as ever to keep on penning and, ahem, bulbing.

So we’ll be keeping our little corner of the internet alive to indulge in poetry, photography and travel. What’s life for if not to get lost and subsequently find yourself in new places, with a notebook full of musings and an old camera full of film?
